How to use a scrub towel – step by step

A scrub towel is a simple way to turn your shower into a little skincare moment. Here we go through how to use it, how often, and how to take care of it so it lasts a long time.

Step by step

  1. Wet your skin and the towel. Use warm (not hot) water and add your usual shower gel.
  2. Scrub in long, gentle strokes. Start at the shoulders and work your way down. With an extra-long towel, like Skrubbhuset's 120 cm one, you can easily reach the middle of your back too.
  3. Be gentle. You don't need to press hard – the material does the work. Avoid sensitive or damaged areas of skin.
  4. Rinse your skin and the towel. Rinse the towel out thoroughly so no soap residue is left.
  5. Hang it up. Let the towel air-dry between uses.

How often should you scrub?

Many people use a scrub towel a few times a week, others daily if their skin feels good with it. Listen to your skin: if it turns red, itches or feels irritated, it's a sign to take a break or scrub less often.

How to care for your towel

Rinse it out after each use and let it air-dry for the longest life. It can also be machine washed at 40 °C without fabric softener.

After your shower

Pat your skin dry and finish with a moisturizing cream or lotion – your skin will feel extra soft and fresh.
